I think there are two types of nostalgia. one is simply that the taste makes you feel retro and sentimental. one is that isn't just about things you like, but about forgetting it once and then remembering it again. I can feel a very strong catharsis when my memory is suddenly recalled by music, smell, etc. In the first case, I can't sing the ending song "ピカピカまっさいチュウPika Pika Massai Chu" of the movie ピカチュウたんけんたい Pikachu Tankentai without crying. I like some phrase that: 君がいつか開く心のアルバムに今年の夏の輝きをセーブしておこう which means "Save the shine of this summer in the album of your heart that you'll open someday" I probably saw this movie but didn't remember the ending song. There were so many things that I was obsessed with when I was a kid, so even if I listened to them again, I'm not sure if I'd heard them before. I think that is the proof that "that summer" was shining. at one time, I thought that Pokemon's remakes were a strategy because the generation that was a child in the past became an adult and had money and children. it may be true, but Pokemon didn't suddenly come up with it and start flirting with adults, they've been leaving messages like this for a long, long time. I can honestly feel that I am a "grown-up kid" not an adult in front of Dr. Oak. In the second case, when I listen to 2010s Western music - Carly Rae Jepson, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, etc... I die in agony remembering my immature teenage years.
